Liability Waiver
Personal information collected through this registration process will be used solely for retreat administration, safety planning, accommodation needs, and participant communication. Tasneem Institute will handle all personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy legislation and will not share participant information with third parties except where required for retreat operations or by law.
Declaration of Accuracy
I hereby affirm that all information provided in this registration form is true, complete, and accurate to the best of my knowledge.
I understand that the organisers are relying on the information submitted for administrative, safety, and program-related purposes.
I acknowledge that providing false, misleading, or incomplete information may result in the cancellation of our registration or removal from the retreat without refund.
By submitting the form below, I confirm our agreement to this declaration.
1. Assumption of Risk
I acknowledge that participation in the above-noted marriage retreat (the “Retreat”) may involve certain risks, including but not limited to:
● Travel to and from the retreat location
● Participation in workshops, group discussions, and activities
● Physical movement within the retreat venue (including outdoor areas)
● Emotional or relational discussions that may be sensitive in nature
I voluntarily assume all risks, known and unknown, associated with participation in the Retreat.
2. Release of Liability
In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Retreat, I hereby release, waive, and discharge:
Tasneem Institute, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, facilitators, agents, representatives, retreat venue owners, accommodation providers, catering providers, transportation providers, Cedar Ridge Camp, and third-party contractors (collectively, the “Released Parties”)
from any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of or related to participation in the Retreat, including but not limited to:
● Personal injury
● Emotional distress
● Property damage
● Illness or medical incidents
● Travel-related incidents
except where such loss is caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Participants are responsible for safeguarding their personal belongings at all times. Tasneem Institute and the Released Parties shall not be liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal property during or in connection with the Retreat.
3. Medical Authorization
I confirm that we are physically and mentally capable of participating in the Retreat.
I authorize the Retreat organisers to seek emergency medical assistance on our behalf if necessary and understand that any related costs are our responsibility.
Participants acknowledge responsibility for managing personal medical conditions, allergies, medications, and emergency medical needs during the Retreat.
Dietary & Allergy Disclaimer
While reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate disclosed dietary requirements, Tasneem Institute cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. Participants with food allergies or medical dietary restrictions remain responsible for managing their health needs and carrying necessary medication.
4. Emotional & Relational Content Disclaimer
The Retreat provides educational and reflective programming intended to support relationship development. It is not a substitute for professional therapy, legal advice, or medical treatment.
Participants remain responsible for their own emotional well-being and decision-making during and after the Retreat.
5. Code of Conduct
I agree to:
● Engage respectfully with facilitators and other participants
● Maintain confidentiality regarding personal information shared by others
● Refrain from disruptive or inappropriate behavior
The organisers reserve the right to remove any participant who violates these standards without refund, compensation, or liability to the organisers.
6. Indemnification
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims arising from our own actions or omissions during the Retreat.
7. Governing Law
This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Provinces of British Columbia and Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
8. Acknowledgment & Signature
Tasneem Institute shall not be liable for cancellation, postponement, modification, or interruption of the Retreat due to circumstances beyond reasonable control including but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather, public health emergencies, government restrictions, venue unavailability, or acts of God. Any refunds or credits shall be issued at the sole discretion of the organisers.
Each participant attending the Retreat must complete and sign an individual waiver and agreement.
I have read this document carefully, understand its contents, and agree to its terms voluntarily and without coercion.
Confidentiality Agreement
1. Purpose
The purpose of this agreement is to create a safe, respectful, and trustworthy environment for all participants. Because retreat sessions may include personal, relational, and emotional sharing, confidentiality is essential to maintaining psychological safety.
2. Participant Commitment to Confidentiality
By submitting the form below, I agree to the following:
1. Non-Disclosure of Personal Information
I will not disclose, repeat, or share personal stories, experiences, or identifying details shared by other participants during the Retreat, whether verbally, in writing, or through digital communication.
2. No Recording
I will not audio record, video record, or photograph private group sessions unless explicitly authorized by retreat organisers.
3. Responsible Discussion Post-Retreat
If referencing retreat experiences outside the event, I will speak only about our own learning and insights and will not identify or describe other participants or their disclosures.
4. Respect for Group Boundaries
I will not use information learned during the Retreat for personal, professional, or social leverage.
3. Limits of Confidentiality
While participants commit to confidentiality, I understand:
● Retreat organisers cannot guarantee that all participants will fully comply.
● Facilitators may be legally required to disclose information in circumstances involving:
o Risk of harm to self or others
o Child protection concerns
o Court orders or legal obligations
4. Facilitator Confidentiality
Retreat facilitators agree to treat personal information shared during sessions with discretion and will not disclose identifiable participant information outside the facilitation team, except where legally required.
5. Emotional Safety Disclaimer
The Retreat is an educational and relational development program. It is not therapy. Participants remain responsible for their own well-being and for seeking professional support where needed.
6. Acknowledgment
I understand that confidentiality is foundational to the integrity of this Retreat. By submitting the form below, I commit to upholding these standards in good faith.
Marriage Retreat Code of Conduct
1. Purpose
This Code of Conduct exists to foster a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where couples can engage openly in personal and relational growth. All participants share responsibility for maintaining the integrity of the retreat space.
2. Respectful Engagement
Participants agree to:
● Treat all individuals with dignity and respect.
● Listen without interrupting or dismissing others.
● Speak from personal experience (“I” statements).
● Avoid shaming, belittling, or hostile language.
● Refrain from dominating discussions.
3. Emotional Safety
Participants agree to:
● Honor confidentiality agreements.
● Avoid pressuring other couples to disclose personal details.
● Step out of a session respectfully if emotions become overwhelming.
● Seek facilitator support when needed.
Retreat facilitators may pause or redirect discussions if they believe emotional safety is compromised.
4. Zero Tolerance for Harmful Conduct
The following behaviors are not permitted:
● Verbal abuse or threats
● Harassment (including sexual, racial, religious, or otherwise discriminatory conduct)
● Physical aggression or intimidation
● Substance abuse that disrupts the retreat environment
● Recording or sharing private content without consent
Any participant engaging in such conduct may be asked to leave the retreat without refund.
5. Participation Expectations
Participants are encouraged to:
● Attend sessions on time.
● Engage thoughtfully in exercises.
● Limit phone use during programming.
● Support their spouse’s participation respectfully.
Participation in sharing is voluntary; however, respectful presence is expected.
6. Facilitator Authority
Retreat organisers and facilitators reserve the right to:
● Set and adjust group boundaries.
● Intervene when necessary.
● Remove participants whose behavior compromises safety or group integrity.
7. Personal Responsibility
The Retreat provides educational programming and structured exercises. Participants remain responsible for:
● Their own emotional well-being.
● Decisions made during or after the retreat.
● Seeking professional support if needed.
