Divine Justice

488 students

“Divine Justice” is an online course exploring an essential component to the Islamic theological framework. Students will be covering some of the most frequently asked and thought about concepts by ancient scholars over the last few centuries, such as why would God create us if He knows whether we are going to heaven or hell, and if God is all good why is there so much evil in the world? Is it fair to make an individual endure eternal fire because of a momentary sin? What is the eternal fate of non-Muslims who happen to be good people? Can I change my destiny if God has already written it?

This course aims to answer such questions through the rich writings available within the Islamic tradition by exploring the traditional Sunni and Shia perspectives within theology, the perspectives within islamic philosophy and the perspectives within irfān.
