Shaghayegh Sherry Rashidan
Shaghayegh Sherry Rashidan is an Iranian-Canadian filmmaker based in Vancouver. She’s particularly interested in confronting issues of representation both on screen and behind the camera. Sherry’s area of focus is in writing, directing, editing, assistant directing, and casting.
She graduated from UBC with a degree in U.S. Studies & International Relations before completing a degree in Film Production.
She’s participated in and won nation-wide visual storytelling competitions gaining recognition from BCAA, the Silk Road Institute, and the Michaelle Jean Foundation.
Sherry believes in filling the existing gap in the film industry for Muslims, and passionately believes in the power and importance of storytelling– especially as a female Muslim artist.
Sherry is a Creative Producer at Tasneem Institute.
