Musnad al-Imam Musa ibn Ja’far

The Musnad of Imam Musa ibn Jafar is a compilation of traditions from his companion and student, Abu ‘Umran b Musa b.Ibrahim al-Mirwazi who lived during the 3rd/9th century in Baghdad. He was the teacher to Sindi Sahik’s son while Imam al-Kazim was under house arrest with Sindi. He took this opportunity to learn from the Imam and record the ahadith. This work has been remarkably preserved in early manuscripts and is presented for the first time in English along with an extensive introduction to the compiler and the collection itself.
