About this course
Explore Islamic dietary law alongside the spiritual dimensions of eating and drinking. The study opens with the spiritual impact of food, the principle of permissibility and Qur’anic dietary guidance, then examines seafood, land animals, birds and other flying animals as distinct areas of discussion.
Later lessons consider further questions about food and drink, extenuating circumstances and the maxim of the Muslim market. The course closes with the prophetic etiquettes of eating and drinking, placing legal questions about what is consumed alongside questions about how a person approaches a meal.
