About this course
Build a foundation in the rules and sounds of Quranic recitation. Beginning with Arabic letters and their points of articulation, this course introduces heavy and light letters, rules for ra, and short and long vowels. Recitation practice appears throughout the sequence.
The lessons progress through nun sakin and tanween, idgham, idhaar, iqlaab and ikhfaa, before examining qalqala and the rules for stopping and beginning. The final section studies different forms of madd and the definite particle, alongside further opportunities to practise recitation.
