The Caliphate of Imam Ali
“The Caliphate of Imam Ali” is an online course that covers one of the most tumultuous periods of early Islamic history. After the assassination of Uthman b. Affan, the Muslim community was in dire need of leadership and guidance. Delegations from every corner of the empire turned to Ali b. Abi Talib to assume the role of Caliph. Students will explore the 4 year period of Imam Ali’s caliphate with particular focus on the civil wars and the Imam’s vision of just governance.
