About Tasneem

Our approach
to learning.

Tasneem Institute works to enhance Islamic literacy through structured courses, films, books and opportunities to learn with scholars.

The sources we study

Rooted in the Qur’an
and the Ahl al-Bayt.

The course library brings together Qur’anic studies, hadith, Islamic belief and law, ethics, spirituality and history. Courses on the Prophet and the Ahl al-Bayt sit alongside study of the texts and methods used to understand this tradition.

Each course page introduces its subject and teacher. The sources-and-sciences level includes Qur’anic sciences, the science of hadith and Arabic grammar, helping learners approach the later courses with a stronger foundation.

A clear sequence

Belief. Practice. Deeper study.

Level 1

Foundations of Faith

Begin with the principles of belief and everyday practice, including God and His attributes, the Qur’an, prayer, recitation and ethics.

Level 2

Sources and sciences

Study the sources and disciplines behind the foundations: theology, law, Qur’anic sciences, hadith, Arabic, history and spirituality.

Level 3

Methods and debates

Continue to legal theory, ijtihad and taqlid, and more demanding questions in theology and Islamic history.

Each level contains eight core courses. Choose two electives from the courses marked for that level or an earlier one.

Scholars and teachers

Know the people
behind the teaching.

Our scholar profiles bring together biographies and links to their Tasneem teaching. Explore the people behind the courses and films before choosing where to begin.

Questions along the way

Learning with
the right guidance.
